Grain Communications Group Inc. (GCGI), a minority-owned business that acquires, builds, owns and operates wireless tower sites specifically developed for federal and state government wireless systems, has raised $20 million in new financing led by Sutter Hill Ventures, with participation from El Dorado Ventures and General Catalyst.
Sarasota, FL-based GCGI was founded by David J. Grain, the former President of Global Signal, Inc. In addition to acquiring towers, GCGI makes equity investments in regional tower site developers, and competes for large government contracts to build and operate communications towers. |
